The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has one of the largest and most loyal fanbase in the world. The success of The Last Ronin is proof fans want more turtles.
Magnus Edlund is one of those rabid fans and put his love for the turtles on the screen with his latest animated short featuring a very heart-wrenching scene from the five-part The Last Ronin mini-series.
The animated short announced almost three months ago by special video. Things got real two weeks ago with the teaser trailer.
TMNT: The Last Ronin Animation is a short film just under five minutes long in complete computer generated animation. This is a slightly different than Edlund’s typical work using a mixture of CGI and real life shooting.
The short is incredibly made and brought a powerful scene from the comic book to life like we never imagined. Edlund’s team proved to the world we need a film project to bring The Last Ronin to the screen. Until that happens TMNT: The Last Ronin Animation will be playing on repeat in my household.
Edlund had help from Robin Andersén (Animator), and Kristian Howald (Modeler and rigger). Andrej Kotevski Lindwall and Zac Clayton voiced The Last Ronin and young Leonardo and Raphael respectively.
