The San Diego Comic-Con has not been what we typically see with the current Writers and Actors Strikes with most studios opting not to attend. This didn’t stop AMC from making a few splashes of their own in The Walking Dead universe.
AMC has announced that The Walking Dead: Dead City, the Maggie and Negan spin-off wrapping up on July 23, and the not-yet-aired Daryl Dixon spin-off have been renewed for second seasons at the cable network. The latter is set to air on AMC and AMC+ September 2023. Additionally, AMC announced the upcoming Rick and Michonne spin-off will be titled “The Ones Who Live,” a far better title than The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne.
Dead City’s renewed might not come as a surprise to those who watched the finale via AMC+ as the season ended quite unresolved. The more surprising news was the renewal of Daryl Dixon as it won’t air until September. Either AMC is still going full force in The Walking Dead Universe no matter what or they have extreme faith in the way the first season is going to be received.
While the first seasons of Dead City and Daryl Dixon at six episodes, it seemed as they would be spin-off miniseries, but AMC wants more Dead and they will continue to make more. Fans of walkers should rejoice.
