Have you ever wondered what slashers, masked home invaders, mindless unkillable monsters, and serial killers do in between their murderous sprees? Wonder no more! The comic series Where Monsters Lie from writer Kyle Starks (I Hate This Place, Sexcastle) and artist Piotr Kowalski (Nightbreed, Steam Man) reveals a hidden world where these creatures come to relax and pass the time until they get the call to go out and kill again.

Where Monsters Lie #1The protagonist of the series is Connor Hayes, a special agent who survived his first slasher attack at summer camp. A few years later he barely escapes a psychopath who built torture puzzles for his victims. Ever since then he has been training and preparing for any future confrontations with these monsters. He has become an experienced special agent and now knows where the monsters lie so that he can plan for war.

Where Monsters Lie #1 brings a unique story concept combined with great artwork and writing by Starks & Kowalski. With this series readers will find humor, blood, disgusting scenes, and a unique story unlike anything seen before in comics books. It will leave readers on the edge of their seat as they uncover this hidden community of Wilmhurst along with Connor Hayes as he plans for war against the monsters that have taken refuge there.

Starks has nailed another horror comic book series following the smash-hit success of I Hate This Place. His ability to craft a wonderful, unique and engaging story has once again captured the world of comic book readers. Teaming up with artist Kowalski, who in his own right has some amazing work soon to be released with The Karman Line, just makes Where Monsters Lie a must-read. Additionally, the coloring from Vladimir Popov and lettering by Joshua Reed complete the package.

If you’re looking for something new and different in your next comic book read-through then Where Monsters Lie #1 is perfect for you! It offers a unique story concept with great artwork and writing plus plenty of humor, blood, and disgusting scenes to keep you entertained throughout its pages.

Where Monsters Lie #1 from Dark Horse Comics hits local comic shops on February 1, 2023 with a follow up issue dropping March 1. The debut issue also features a beautiful variant cover by James Stokoe in addition to the stellar main cover from Kowalksi.
