The Capes and Tights crew plans to re-watch and review all Marvel Cinematic Universe films, starting with the Iron Man movie trilogy.
Marvel kicked off the MCU back in 2008 with the release of the first Iron Man flick, starring Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, Terrence Howard as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane, Shaun Toub as Ho Yinsen, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia “Pepper” Potts.
The sequel featured Don Cheadle taking over for Howard as Rhodey, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko / Whiplash, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
While in the final film, Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen, Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, and others joined the crew.
The initial film in the MCU amassed a box office total of $585.8 million on a $140 million budget. Not bad. The sequel took in $623.9 million, while the final film in the trilogy brought in roughly the same as the first two films combined, $1.215 billion. In total, the trilogy had a $2.424 billion box office. Of course, RDJ and his Iron Man character was also featured in a few other MCU films to add to the total profit for the people over at Disney.
Justin and Adam discuss the three films on their own, but bring the whole thing together with talking about the complete trilogy.
