The Bangor Comic and Toy Con took place over April 22-24, 2022 at the Bangor Mall on Stillwater Ave in Bangor, Maine. The convention came only six months following the 2021 con, which was delayed multiple times due to the pandemic.

Comic book creators such as Joseph Schmalke (We Don’t Kill Spiders, Murder Hobo); Tony Fleecs (Stray Dogs, Star Wars: Adventures, My Little Pony); Bob Tkacik (Good Boy Paws); Shawn French (Epic Tavern, Escape From Jesus Island); Steve Mardo (Epic Tavern – Tales From The Fantastical Crime Unit); Ben Goldsmith (Second Place, Seance Room); and more joined the event!

Additionally, BCTC had a large anime contingency this year with Johnny Yong Bosch (Demon Slayer, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Akira); Trina Nishimura (Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist); Sonny Strait (Dragonball Z, One Piece, My Hero Academia); Tyler Walker (My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, One Piece); Christopher Wehkamp (My Hero Academia, Tokyo Goul:re, Attack on Titan); and Kent Williams (Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Fruits Basket, My Hero Academia).

The event welcomed over 7,500 attendees, which is a new Bangor Comic and Toy Con record.

Moving to the next event, the Bangor Comic and Toy Con announced Weekend of the Wicked to take place at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine from September 30-October 2. Already announced celebrity guests include David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London); Tony Daniels (X-Men: The Animated Series, Marvel vs. Capcom); and Lenore Zann (X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men ’97).
