Obi-Wan premiered on Friday, May 27, 2022 and lasted six episodes until June 22. The series is Disney’s third Star Wars series to air on the streaming platform after The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett. Kenobi was directed by Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian, Fear the Walking Dead) and written by a number of people.
Ewan McGregor starred as Obi-Wan Kenobi, while joined by co-stars Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor; Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother; Moses Ingram as Reva Sevander; Benny Safdie as Nari; Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars; Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia Organa; Flea as Vect Nokru; Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars; Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa; Kumail Nanjiani as Haja Estree, and many others.
The series takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
The next series in the Star Wars Universe releases on August 31, 2022 when the Rogue One prequel series Andor hits the Disney+ streaming service.
