As Halloween quickly approaches Marvel brings us a spooky Crypt of Shadows #1 to get us in the mood.
Crypt of Shadows #1 was written by a number of writers including Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), Christian Cooper (Darkhold), Chris Condon (That Texas Blood), and more. Art contributions include Geoff Shaw (God Country), Ibrahim Moustafa (Count), Adam Warren (Empowered), and many others. Plus, many other colorists, letters and more. The book hit shelves at a local comic book ship on October 19.
The heroes of the Marvel Universe spend most of their time in the bright sun, flying high above it all…but every once in a while, they venture into the darkness that lurks in the hidden corners of the world. There lurk the creatures, the monsters, the vampires…the ones who prey on innocence and goodness. Join us, and some of your favorite heroes, for tales of fangs, claws and silent, stalking swamp creatures to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve!
Crypt of Shadows features an anthology of six different stories based around Marvel characters on the spooky side of the universe. Victor Strange, the brother of the former Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange, acts as our guide through the stories introducing us to each as they come along.
The book from Marvel Comics is a perfect pickup for those looking for something with more of a classic horror vibes in the superhero world. Horror comics can be great for some and not for others, Crypt of Shadows lies simply in the middle.
The appearance of Werewolf By Night, Moon Knight, Man-Thing, Elsa Bloodstone, and others on the heals of the Werewolf By Night Special Presentation and Moon Knight television series on Disney+ gives fans of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Comics Universe some more on each character.
Overall Crypt of Shadows #1 gives us something to get us in the mood for Halloween and escape the normal MCU with an anthology of spooky stories.
Happy Halloween from Capes and Tights!
