Ghosts on the Water is a thrilling adventure that takes place on the South Pacific Ocean filled with love, mystery, and, of course, ghosts. Written by Ben Goldsmith (Second Place) and Jeremey Dyches and illustrated by Alex Cormack (The Devil That Wears My Face).
The story follows the journey of a man named Mad Mac, who lost his brother to the sea. He is searching for answers and closure, but as he gains power and influence, he finds himself caught in a web of secrets and danger. The characters are well-developed, and the plot twists and turns keep you engaged throughout the entire read.
The artwork is stunning and beautifully captures the atmosphere of the ocean and the supernatural elements of the story. Alex Cormack’s use of color and detail is impressive, and each panel is a work of art in itself. The lettering by Justin Birch is also excellent and easy to follow, which is important for a comic book.
One of the things that stood out to me was the pacing of the story. It was well-thought-out and executed, allowing the reader to follow the plot effortlessly. I also appreciated the attention to historical detail and cultural references, which added depth to the story.
Ghosts on the Water is a hauntingly good read. The characters are relatable, the artwork is stunning, and the story is engaging. We Are excited to see what Goldsmith, Dyches, and Cormack go with the rest of the series.
Ghosts on the Water #1 hits local comic shops on November 15, 2023 from Scout Comics.
