Phase 6: Fantastic Four, Two Avengers Films

Marvel surprised fans on Saturday night at the San Diego Comic-Con when they announced the end of Phase 4, all of Phase 5, and three films in Phase 6. Things kick-off with Fantastic Four in 2024.

In addition to the Fantastic Four reboot, Kevin Feige, President at Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer at Marvel, announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025. Two additional unknown films will take part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 6, more information to come in the future.

Marvel named Phases 4-6 as “The Multiverse Saga” on Saturday night, confirming rumors from earlier in the week.

During The Multiverse Saga Marvel will introduce many of the characters we will see culminate in the two Avengers films in 2025 with Secret Wars being the final film in Phase 6. The Kang Dynasty, landing in the middle of the phase, will no doubtably feature Kang the Conqueror who we first met in Loki season one as “He Who Remains.” Feige confirmed the character is officially Kang, played by Jonathan Majors. Kang will star in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania to kick-off the fifth phase in February 2023.

With Secret Wars the target and the multiverse the overarching storyline, many different threads are going to take place over the next three years to impact the MCU. The story will likely pull from the 2015 Jonathan Hickman comic book run simply titled “Secret Wars.” However, it’s possible Marvel pulls from the original run in 1984.

It is entirely possible Marvel uses the name, only a few comic book stories, and creates their own film story as they have tended to do over the past few years.

Things will get started with the long-awaited Fantastic Four film on November 8, 2024. No word on if this will be the first appearances of Sue Storm, Reed Richards, Ben Grim, and Johnny Storm or if they will all be featured in other films as supporting actors or cameos before the main film.

The MCU is heading in such an amazing direction with what should be some of the biggest and most impactful comic book movies to ever be made. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will hit theaters on May 2, 2025 with Avengers: Secret Wars coming on November 7, 2025 to close out Phase 6.
