The second season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series, Loki, hits Disney+ on October 6, 2023. Here is a list of what to watch prior to the followup season.
Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, first debuted in the MCU during Thor in 2011. The first season of Loki featured his first leading role and this will continue with season two.
Must Watch: These films or tv series are highly recommended in order to get a full understanding of who Loki is in the MCU.
Should Watch: While not required viewing, these films or tv series either setup potential storylines or give us a deeper understanding of Tom Hiddleston’s character or characters expected in Loki season two.
Extra Credit: Not necessary to watch Loki, but well worth the viewing.
Must Watch // Thor (2011)
As the son of Odin, king of the Norse gods, Thor will soon inherit the throne of Asgard from his aging father. However, on the day that he is to be crowned, Thor reacts with brutality when the gods’ enemies, the Frost Giants, enter the palace in violation of their treaty. As punishment, Odin banishes Thor to Earth. While Loki, Thor’s brother, plots mischief in Asgard, Thor, now stripped of his powers, faces his greatest threat.
