The Capes and Tights Podcast

The first quarter of 2023 has come to a close and it was a hell of a quarter for the Capes and Tights Podcast. Over the first 90 days of 2023, we have released 22 episodes featuring 23 comic creators, 17 writers, eight artists, two comic letterers, five authors, two television writers, one actor, and a few comic industry people.

 

We discuss comics from BOOM! Studios, AWA Studios, Dark Horse, IDW Publishing, Mad Cave Studios, Black Box Comics, Vault Comics, Source Point Press, Scout Comics, Band of Bards, ComiXology, Image Comics, CEX Publishing and more. Plus, novels based in The Walking Dead universe and an autobiography, while also reviewing a few movies.

 

To kick-off the second quarter we welcome Cullen Bunn, Jordan Plosky, Paul Eaton, Taylor Soderberg, Kyle Starks, Skottie Young, Daniel Chabon, Will Sliney, Heather Antos, Daniel Jose Older, and the return of Jonathan Hedrick. This only gets us until the beginning of May!

On Episode 75 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, we welcomed comic book writer David M. Booher to discuss his comic book Specs at BOOM! Studios. Booher also discussed his books such as Canto and more.

On Episode 76 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomed New York Times bestselling author and comic book writer Daniel Kraus to the show to discuss his comics Trojan and Year Zero, Vol. 0 at AWA Studios, plus his novels The Living Dead, Shape of Water and more!

On Episode 77 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, we welcomed author and comic book writer Adam Cesare and illustrator David Stoll to the show to discuss their comic book series Dead Mall at Dark Horse. Additionally, Soderberg and Cesare touched on his novels Clown in a Cornfield and the sequel Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives.

On Episode 78 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomed Rich Koslowski to the show to discuss his graphic novel F.A.R.M. System. Koslowski is both the writer and illustrator of the OGN.

On Episode 80 of the Capes and Tights Podcast, Paul Eaton joined us to discuss the unreleased 1994 The Fantastic Four movie. The film features the team’s origin, and their first battle with Doctor Doom. Executive produced by low-budget specialists Roger Corman and Bernd Eichinger, it was made in order for Eichinger to keep the Fantastic Four film rights. It was not released officially, although pirated copies have circulated.
